Miquella's Haligtree is a vast, misshapen tree in the far north of the Lands Between. A town is built into its branches, and the walled city of Elphael lies at its base. Haligtree Knights and Cleanrot Knights serve the twin demigods Miquella and Malenia here. The way in is hidden in the Consecrated Snowfield. The Haligtree is one of the last and hardest optional regions of the base game.

Lore
Miquella the Kind turned from the Golden Order when it could not cure his twin sister Malenia of the Scarlet Rot. He planted the Haligtree far from the Erdtree and watered it with his own blood. He hoped to found an order of unalloyed gold. Later he sealed himself in a cocoon within the trunk to nurture the tree directly.
The tree never grew into a true Erdtree. Before Miquella could finish, Mohg, Lord of Blood cut him from the trunk and carried him away. Malenia returned from her battle with Radahn and waited at the base of the tree for her brother. Over time her rot seeped into the tree.
The Haligtree still became a haven for those whom the world rejected. Misbegotten, Albinaurics and the Kindred of Rot found shelter in its boughs. Loretta, once a knight of Caria, made a sanctuary there for the Albinaurics. Pilgrims carried a secret medallion to the Grand Lift of Rold, crossed the snowfield and passed through Ordina to reach the tree.
Geography
The waygate in Ordina, Liturgical Town carries the Tarnished to the outer branches of the canopy. The path winds along thin boughs where Oracle Envoys fire from above. A fall from the branches is often fatal. The branches lead down to Haligtree Town and its plaza.
Loretta, Knight of the Haligtree guards the courtyard below the town. A lift beyond her leads to the bridge of Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree. Elphael's outer wall, inner wall and rot-filled drainage channel lead to the roots of the tree. Malenia, Blade of Miquella waits there.
Bosses
Loretta, Knight of the Haligtree guards the way between the town and Elphael. Malenia, Blade of Miquella waits among the Haligtree roots. A giant Oracle Envoy and Putrid Avatars also guard the way.
