Kindred of Rot is a dungeon boss in Elden Ring.
The Kindred of Rot are a pair of insect warriors that guard the end of Seethewater Cave on Mt. Gelmir. They fight with spears and spray sticky pest threads. The cave floor is full of poison, so the fight wears the player down over time. Their reward is a talisman that boosts attack power when poison or rot takes hold.
Lore
The Kindred of Rot are crawling insect beings with hard chitinous shells and many thin arms. Their bodies rustle dryly as they move. They wield glaives carved from sharpened shell.
The pests emerged from the Swamp of Aeonia. They are servants of the Goddess of Rot, yet forsaken by her. The uncanny design of their glaives shows a keen intellect that men may recognize but will never understand.

Attacks
- Melee Swing: a sideways swipe with the glaive. A roll through the swing in the opposite direction avoids it.
- Melee Plunge: both arms pull back before the glaive drives into the ground. A roll back as the arms rise avoids it.
- Melee Stab: a straight jab with a short, linear reach. A shield blocks it, or a sidestep avoids it.
- Pest Threads: a spray of sticky threads in front of the pest. A roll through the spray avoids the damage.
Tactics
- Bring Neutralizing Boluses or a poison cure, because the cave water builds up poison.
- Summon spirit ashes such as the Lone Wolf Ashes to split the pair.
- Stay to the side of one pest and focus it down before turning to the second.
- Use guard counters with a shield to stun them and open more hits.
- Cast Swift Glintstone Shard to stagger them and stop their thread attack.
- Use fire, bleed or frost, because the pests are weak to all three.
