The Shaded Castle is a ruined castle sinking into a poison swamp. It lies in the far north of the Altus Plateau, in the valley next to Mt. Gelmir. Poisonous fumes hang over its walls, and Cleanrot Knights patrol inside. Elemer of the Briar waits in the castle's main hall. Most runs reach it while exploring the Altus Plateau.

Lore
For generations, House Marais ruled the Shaded Castle as its executioners and castellans. Every son of the house was born sickly. Maleigh Marais fell under the spell of Malenia and swore he felt her near when he held her prosthesis.
Elemer of the Briar was a notorious killer of teachers and merchants. He was brought to the castle to be executed. Instead, he stole the executioner's sword of House Marais and took the castle for himself. House Marais fell into ruin.
Guide
- Head north from the Altus Tunnel through the valley between the plateau and Mt. Gelmir.
- Enter the castle through the poisoned ramparts.
- Cross the rooftops and inner gate while avoiding the poison swamp.
- Find Patches near the boss door.
- Enter the main hall to face Elemer of the Briar.
