Elemer of the Briar is a great boss in Elden Ring .
Elemer of the Briar is a thorn-wrapped knight who rules the top of The Shaded Castle on the Altus Plateau . He escaped his own execution there by seizing the executioner's sword. He sends that sword flying at foes from afar and crushes those who come close with a huge greatshield. Elsewhere he roams at night as the Bell Bearing Hunter , preying on merchants.
Lore Elemer wears battered iron armor wrapped in coils of iron thorns. He carries a massive greatshield and an executioner's greatsword that he can hurl and steer through the air.
The iron thorns mark the guilty and those sentenced to death. Elemer came from Eochaid, a land of proudly solitary ascetics, and was brought to the Shaded Castle to die.
He snatched the sword from the site of his looming execution and filled it with the battle arts of Eochaid. Later he earned the name Bell Bearing Hunter by slaying merchants and taking their bell bearings.
Where to find Elemer of the Briar Location? The Shaded Castle, Altus Plateau, in the Castellan's Hall at the top of the castle, reached by lift from the courtyard beyond the Shaded Castle Inner Gate Site of Grace

Attacks Sword Swings: chains of swings, sometimes glowing red; roll away to bait the Dancing Blade or parry the plain swings.
Eochaid's Dancing Blade: his sword glows red and flies out to slash at range; roll forward and punish while he waits for it to return.
Blade Return: he holds out his hand and calls the sword back through his target; roll aside when his hand reaches out.
Drilling Blade: the sword spins and he thrusts it forward, sometimes far; roll to his left and strike his open side.
Shield Charge: a fast dash shield-first from range; stay close to avoid provoking it.
Shield Slam: he slams the greatshield down, sometimes pulling it free with a second blast; back off or roll behind him and punish.
Grab: his left hand glows red and reaches out with long range to lift and slam; run away or move behind him. Tactics Open with a charged heavy attack from behind; on the first visit he faces away from the door.
Stay close, where his moveset is smaller and easier to read.
Bait the Shield Slam by standing behind him, then punish or heal during its long recovery.
Avoid standing between him and his flying sword when he calls it back.
Block his sword with a shield that stops all physical damage.
Wait until his grabbing hand moves before dodging. Best Builds Full guard shield All of his sword attacks deal physical damage, so a shield that blocks all physical damage stops them cold.
Rot opener Rotten Breath at the start of the fight builds scarlet rot that keeps eating his health.
Parry build Most of his sword swings can be parried, though two parries are needed to break his stance.
