Mt. Gelmir is a great volcano in the west of the Altus Plateau. Sheer cliffs, lava and dark skies mark its slopes. Volcano Manor, the house of Praetor Rykard, sits near its summit. Battle has ravaged the mountain, and grotesque creatures roam it. It is usually explored alongside the Altus Plateau.

Lore
Mt. Gelmir saw some of the worst fighting of the Shattering. The forces of Leyndell marched against Praetor Rykard and his followers. Ruined camps still cling to the cliffs, and some soldiers have gone mad from what they saw. At Fort Laiedd, Leyndell's men still fight the Fire Monks.
Rykard rebelled against the Erdtree. After the Elden Ring broke, he fed himself to a great serpent, Great Rune and all. Most of his knights abandoned him, but his consort Tanith stayed. She now leads the Recusants, Tarnished who hunt their own kind. Azur, one of the first glintstone sorcerers, settled near the Hermit Village after he was banished from the academy.
Geography
The usual way up begins at the Bridge of Iniquity, north of the plateau. A spiritspring and a rope ladder lead to the First Mt. Gelmir Campsite. The road then climbs past the Gelmir Hero's Grave and the Road of Iniquity. Rya can also carry the Tarnished straight to Volcano Manor. An Abductor Virgin in the academy offers a darker shortcut.
The dried Seethewater River winds around the base of the volcano, past fire geysers. The Seethewater Cave lies along it. The river ends in the west near Fort Laiedd. The Hermit's Shack, the Craftsman's Shack and the Hermit Village line the southern slopes. The Corpse-Stench Shack stands at the north-eastern foot, and the Minor Erdtree (Mt. Gelmir) lies on the north-eastern side. The Volcano Cave opens high on the northern slopes.
Bosses
Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy waits at the heart of Volcano Manor, with the Godskin Noble and the Abductor Virgins along the way. A Magma Wyrm and the Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast guard the slopes. The Red Wolf of the Champion, two Kindred of Rot, Demi-Human Queen Maggie, Demi-Human Queen Margot and an Ulcerated Tree Spirit wait in its dungeons and ruins.
