The Watchful Spirit is a Divine Beast incantation in Elden Ring. It is part of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.
Watchful Spirit is an entreaty received from the hornsent grandam, who begs for vengeance upon Messmer and his kin for betraying and burning her people. It slowly summons a guardian skull spirit above the caster's head that, after a short delay, fires a volley of holy projectiles at enemies before dissipating. The summon is slow and its overall damage is low, and it cannot be active alongside phalanx effects such as Glintblade Phalanx, since each replaces the other. The Braided Cord Robe boosts its damage, while the Spiraltree Seal does not. It suits divine beast faith builds and players who enjoy passive support damage while they fight.
Effect
Summons a skull spirit above the caster's head that fires four holy projectiles at foes. Each cast costs 12 FP and 20 stamina and takes up one memory slot.
How to Get Watchful Spirit Guide
Watchful Spirit is given by the Hornsent Grandam in Belurat, Tower Settlement when she is spoken to twice while the Divine Beast Head is worn. This has to happen before Messmer the Impaler is defeated.
- Find the Storeroom Key in Belurat, Tower Settlement.
- Defeat the Divine Beast Dancing Lion to receive the Divine Beast Head.
- From the Small Private Altar Site of Grace, go left across the thin bridge and open the locked door with the Storeroom Key.
- Equip the Divine Beast Head and talk to the Hornsent Grandam inside twice to receive Watchful Spirit.
