Saline Springs is a village in the Shroud of the southern Springlands, now held by the Fell. Salt from the mine to the south was carted here, and the miners had a quota to fill for the village. Today the streets lie in the Shroud. A page of Balthazar's theories on the Shroud waits on a table in the centre.

Lore Pages
"Smothered And Devoured By Obscurity" lies on a table in the centre of the village. It is a page of The Alchemist's Theories II. Balthazar writes that the Shroud burns the eyes and lungs but does not quite kill. It spreads and eats away at its victims until only a husk is left. Even the Ancients' capital has risen above the clouds to escape it. He ends by saying that only the Flame can hold the Shroud back.
