Slaying The Corrupted Beast is the final great hunt of the Albaneve Summits. A corrupted beast sleeps on Howling Peak, and only lighting the eight balefires around the innermost mountain will wake it. The beast is the Fell Dragon Youngling, a boss. Its head unlocks a Flame upgrade that lets Flame Altars keep the cold away from the base.
Walkthrough
The quest step by step:
- Finish Ignite The Coldest Elixir Well and speak to the Flame.
- Travel to the first balefire at Balefire Garrison "Silkfrost".
- Light the fire on top of the tower near the end of the garrison.
- Look out from each balefire for the next structure in the distance, and light every one. There are eight in total.
- The last balefire sits high on the mountain in the town of Everfrore Keep.
- Climb to the top of Howling Peak and fight the Fell Dragon Youngling boss.
- Take its head and strengthen the Flame with it.
Some of the beast's attacks can be parried. Frost protection matters on the peak, since the cold is at its worst there.

Prerequisites
This quest follows Ignite The Coldest Elixir Well, which the Flame gives after the Hunter's Spinning Machine and the Farmer's warm food. Northern soldiers built an Elixir Well in the frozen barrens, tainting the snow of the Albaneve Summits. The player descends into the main Elixir Well and beheads the one-eyed "Evil Eye" inside. Its head, the Fell Cyclops Head, strengthens the Flame to level 7. With the Flame stronger, the balefires that circle Howling Peak can be lit to call out the beast.
