The Albaneve Summits are the frozen mountains of the north-east: snow, conifer forest, frozen lakes and waterfalls, marble quarries, castles and garrisons. Howling Peak, the highest point in Embervale, rises at their centre. Enemies start at level 28 and run to 40, and above a certain height a frost timer runs alongside the Shroud timer.
Getting There
The way in opens at Flame level 6 once you own the Ghost Glider. The Flame's quest Ignite The Snowy Mountaintops (Shroud Passage 6) sends you to The Pit, a cave passage up from the Kindlewastes held by Vukah and Fell; the region can also be reached from the northern Nomad Highlands.
Then two more steps. Ignite The Coldest Elixir Well has you kill the Fell Cyclops called the Evil Eye for Flame level 7. Slaying The Corrupted Beast has you light every Balefire and kill the Fell Dragon Youngling on Howling Peak for Flame level 8, which also lets your altars keep the cold out of your base.

Ancient Spire
The spire stands in the south of the region. Lighting it also adds Event Honor Hall to the map. Its obelisks are In These Windswept Summits and We Won't Share Our Breath With You, both further north.
Flame Shrines give 5 Sparks each: at Vukah Ceremony Hill, east of the Fletcher Marble Quarry, north of the Eldermere Dam, north and south of Howling Peak, west of Skeleton Excavation Camp "Mae", west of Pretty Patty's Pumpkin Farm, and south of Everfrore Keep.
Locations
Balefires ring the inner mountain: Silkfrost, Rimerock, Lance Point, Iron Heart, Wind Ward, 1000 Miles, White Pine and finally Everfrore Keep, high on the mountain. Lighting all of them is part of Slaying The Corrupted Beast. Lake Luma, Camellia Lake and Polaris Falls are the main lakes and falls.

Shroud
Three Elixir Wells: south-east of the Elixir Production Site under a Fell Thunderbrute, and west of the Forge Of Obsidia and east of Polaris Falls, each under a Fell Cyclops. Shroud Roots grow west of Wickmouth, inside the Camellia Lake Marble Quarry, north of Balefire Garrison "White Pine", beneath Polaris Falls, south of the Enshrouded Goat Farm and at Gateway Outpost "Celeste".
Darya's Wand and Darya's Staff lie in two of its Night Sanctums, and the one in the north-east has the high-tier Gem Forge. Further Gem Forges stand north-west of Wickmouth (entrance in the Shroud to the west) and north-west of the Pumpkin Patch, guarded by a Fell Sicklescythe.
Resources
Conifer logs, Amethyst, Granite, Obsidian and Silver Ore are new here. Obsidian comes from the Obsidian Mine and red marble from the two marble quarries, and an unnamed mine has coal and amethyst. The goat farms give wool, and the pumpkin farms grow pumpkins.

Gear Found in the Albaneve Summits
Lore
Lord Vorgoth was sent here as Guard of the North with an army, and legend says the Ancients threw him off Howling Peak, where the Shroud took him. His northern soldiers built Elixir Wells that tainted the snow and the Cyclops, giants who once lived on the peaks and fled into the Hollow Halls. The dragons of Howling Peak live on in Slayed Dragons, Bed Time Stories and Dragon Skeletons; other lore includes Darya's Expedition To The Night Sanctums, The Albaneve Summits Prison and Amethyst Hermit.
Notes
- The frost timer starts at 40 seconds and each level of frost protection adds 3 minutes 10 seconds. It refills lower down or near fire and large lava pools; Pocket Heaters, food and late armour add protection.
- Event Honor Hall carries the names of the winners of a Halloween building contest.
