Charred Cogwheel is the piece of Ashlands salvage that no weapon or armour uses. It is machinery, prised off the Skugg that lurk inside the Charred Fortresses of the Ashlands, and it exists for the catapult.
How to Get It
Skugg ambush you inside Ashlands Charred Fortresses rather than out in the open, so clearing fortress interiors is the only reliable way to farm cogwheels. They are purely a kill drop, with nothing to mine or chop, which makes survival the real gate. Bring Fire Resistance Barley Wine and Ashlands-grade armour and weapons before you set foot inside. Cogwheels are heavy and will not pass through an ordinary portal, so the trip back needs a ship or a Portal Stone.
