The Crystal wall 1x1 is the window pane of the Walls tab, glass in all but name, cut from two pieces of Crystal carried out of a frost cave. Builders use it to let daylight in: a run of panes makes a glazed gable, a greenhouse or a lit stairwell while keeping the weather out.
How to Build It
Each pane takes two Crystal with a workbench nearby. That is the easy half; hauling crystal down off the Mountain is the expensive part. A pane gives no support of its own, so you cannot stack panes straight onto one another, and they need a frame of beams or poles to sit in. With 10 durability it is the most fragile thing you can build: one careless axe swing or one Greydwarf rock and the window is gone.
