Set between two posts, the Darkwood arch turns a plain gap into a framed opening and carries the black tarred look through a doorway. It is a Supports piece that does two jobs at once: it shapes the head of an entrance and stiffens the frame around it.

How to Build It

Each arch costs two wood and one tar, with a workbench in range. Arches look best in a row, and because rain does not damage darkwood, the same arcade can run out of the hall and along an open colonnade without weathering.
