The Darkwood beam 4m covers twice the span of the short beam in a single piece, the longest straight beam in the darkwood Supports set. Builders use it to throw a floor across open air, carry a gallery over a hall, or bridge two towers without a post in the middle.

How to Build It

Each one costs four wood and one tar, which makes the long beam the cheaper way to cover ground, and you need a workbench in range to place or repair it. Support weakens along every horizontal run the further it reaches from the ground, so a long span still needs a wall or a post somewhere underneath before you load a roof on top.
