When you frame a building properly the uprights go in first, and that is what the Supports menu keeps the Log pole 2m for. One length of corewood gives a short, stout post that will stand under a roof, a floor or a long run of beams without complaint.

How to Build It

Each pole costs one Corewood with a Workbench in range, and the corewood comes from the pines of the Black Forest rather than the birches at home. Log pieces carry a good deal more weight than plain Wood ones, which is why builders raise a frame of them first and fill in with planks afterwards. They are still timber, though, and a straight log pole left standing in the rain will rot, so get a roof over the frame early.
