Wolf Meat drops only from the Wolves of the Mountains, which makes the best mid game meat also the coldest one to fetch.
How to Get It
Wolves range across the Mountains and come out in packs after dark, and every one you kill drops meat and a pelt, with a 40% chance of a fang from a no-star wolf. Dress for the peaks before you go, in Wolf Armour or with a Frost Resistance Mead, since the Freezing debuff will finish you well before the pack does. Two-star wolves hit hard enough that it is worth fighting them from a ledge or a fence line. Tamed wolves breed at home, and a pen of them keeps your larder stocked without the climb.
