Feline Crossbow is the best crossbow for armor piercing. It is the crossbow of the Feline set (Cat School), witcher gear from the base game. It has +225% attack power and 10-12 damage at level 29. It is crafted from a diagram found in the wreck of the Flying Stag off Grassy Knoll, during Scavenger Hunt: Cat School Gear. The diagram comes from the Cat School Gear hunt around Novigrad, which puts the crossbow in the mid game.
Its bonuses are +225% attack power, +10 armor piercing, +1% adrenaline gain, +2% crit chance and +15% bonus experience from monsters. Its +225% attack power is the highest of any base game crossbow. The Ursine Crossbow comes next with +210%, then the Relic Crossbow with +200%. Its 10-12 damage ties the Ursine Crossbow for the highest of any base game crossbow. The crossbow brings flying monsters down and is the only usable weapon underwater.
Set Bonus
The Feline set is light armor. With 3 pieces, a strong attack raises fast attack damage by 10% per set piece worn for 5 seconds. With 6 pieces, rear attacks deal 50% more damage and stun the target, at a cost of 1 Adrenaline Point. The set has 5 tiers from basic to grandmaster, and the crossbow belongs to the basic tier. The bonuses count the six armor and sword pieces.
How to Get Feline Crossbow
- During Scavenger Hunt: Cat School Gear, find the diagram and a mage's notes in the wreck of the Flying Stag southwest of the Lighthouse in Grassy Knoll.
- Have a blacksmith craft the crossbow. A journeyman can make basic tier gear.
Feline Crossbow Map Location and Quest Guide
The pin marks the wreck of the Flying Stag on a small island west of Grassy Knoll, southwest of the Lighthouse near Novigrad. The Feline Crossbow diagram sits in a chest on the lower deck, with the mage's notes. The wreck is one stop of Scavenger Hunt: Cat School Gear.
- Start Scavenger Hunt: Cat School Gear by finding any of its diagrams, or by buying one of Adalbert Kermith's maps. The first and second maps sell in Blackbough, the third in Crow's Perch and the fourth in Lindenvale.
- Swim or sail to the small island west of Grassy Knoll, southwest of the Lighthouse.
- Climb onto the wreck of the Flying Stag.
- Head down the stairs to the lower deck.
- Loot the chest there for the crossbow diagram and read the mage's notes.
