The Fleder is a lesser Vampire that hunts in Toussaint. It is weaker than the rest of its kind in every way, yet it is still very, very dangerous. Even a lone fleder is strong enough to bring down a trained soldier.
Lore
A report of the Toussaint Ducal Guard shows what a fleder leaves behind. The victim's body was badly mutilated, with only a bloody hole where the nose had been. Sergeant Dovate threw up at the sight and needed smelling salts. The guard closed the case and blamed a supernatural being.
A fleder cannot be mistaken for any other creature. It has wide jaws full of teeth and a flat, ugly face. Its body is completely hairless and often covered in warts.
Behaviour
Fleders are not clever, even for vampires. A mindless rage drives them to attack any weaker being and tear it to shreds. They fight with teeth and claws, flailing blindly. They keep going even after the victim is already dead.
Fleders also move in their own way. They do not run. Instead, they leap at their prey to catch it and knock it down.
Weaknesses
Coat the silver sword with Vampire Oil and drink Black Blood before the fight. Both work well against fleders.
Use the leap against them. Watch for the jump and dodge it, so it never comes as a surprise. Fleders regain health during a fight, so a quick kill is the safer plan.
