La Cage au Fou is a main quest of Blood and Wine. After the fight in the storehouse, Regis reveals that the Beast is his dear friend Dettlaff, a higher vampire. The two old friends meet again at Regis's hideout in a cemetery crypt. To find Dettlaff, Regis must brew a potion called Resonance. Its rarest parts are the saliva of a spotted wight and the blood of a higher vampire in great pain.

- Kill monsters until bloodlust turns Regis into a monster.
Choices
The spotted wight was once a woman under a curse. Geralt learns how to break it by examining enough objects in the house before he hides. He can then try to lift the curse. To succeed, Geralt must eat at the table without the spoons. The wight flees, and its stench trail leads to the woman Marlene. The cauldron still holds the saliva Regis needs.
Geralt can also attack the wight. He then kills it and takes its saliva glands.
