Legendary Griffin Silver Sword is the NG+ variant of the Griffin Silver Sword, the basic Griffin School tier. It deals 211-257 damage at level 12 and gives +21% sign intensity. Its diagram is in a chest at Lornruk near Crow's Perch in Velen. It needs level 11 plus the NG+ starting level, so it counts as late game.
It also gives +25% crit damage, +5% crit chance and +20% bonus experience from monsters, with 3 rune slots. Against the regular Griffin Silver Sword, it raises sign intensity from 5% to 21%. That suits a signs build.
Set Bonus
The Griffin set is medium armor. It has five tiers: Basic at level 11, Enhanced at 18, Superior at 26, Mastercrafted at 34 and Grandmaster at 40. The 3-piece and 6-piece bonuses come from Grandmaster pieces worn as a school set. 3 pieces: after a sign cast in standard mode with stamina, the next sign cast within 3 seconds costs no stamina. 6 pieces: Yrden traps are 40% larger, and inside the trap stamina regeneration rises by 5 per second, sign intensity by 100% and damage taken drops by 20%.
How to Get Legendary Griffin Silver Sword
- In NG+, start Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear.
- Open the chest at Lornruk near Crow's Perch, which holds the diagram and crafting notes.
- Have a blacksmith craft it.
Legendary Griffin Silver Sword Map Location and Quest Guide
The pin marks Lornruk, the lighthouse fort at the far end of the Crow's Perch region in Velen. The Legendary Griffin Silver Sword diagram sits in a chest up a ladder beside the door to the bridge, with crafting notes. It replaces the standard diagram at this spot in New Game +, during Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear.
- Start Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear by finding any of its diagrams, or by buying one of Edwin Greloff's maps from the armorer in Midcopse.
- Travel to Lornruk and kill the wyvern, drawing it to the near side of the bridge first.
- Jump into the water below, looking first to avoid the rocks. Kill the drowners near the place of power.
- Dive into the underwater cave entrance and swim through to the other side.
- Climb the ledges and the ladder, then keep climbing to the exit on the other side of the bridge.
- Turn to face the door just used and climb the ladder beside it.
- Loot the chest at the top for the silver sword diagram and the crafting notes.
