The Viper Venomous Steel Sword is a witcher gear steel sword from the Viper set in Hearts of Stone. It deals 328-400 damage at level 39, with +25% Aard intensity and +75% crit damage. Its diagram is in a chest in the Borsodi vault during Open Sesame!, and that is the only chance to get it. It is a late-game sword found in Novigrad.

Its +25% Aard intensity is the highest Aard bonus of any witcher gear steel sword. It also has +10% crit chance, +15% chance to poison and +5% XP from humans and nonhumans, with 3 rune slots.

The pin marks the Borsodi Brothers' Auction House in Oxenfurt. The Viper Venomous Steel Sword diagram lies in a chest inside the vault, near the pedestal of Maximilian Borsodi's House. Geralt enters the vault only once, during the heist in the Hearts of Stone main quest Open Sesame!, so loot the chest before leaving.

1. Go to the Borsodi Brothers' Auction House. Vimme Vivaldi brings Geralt in as his guest.
2. Head upstairs, meet Vivaldi's friends, then sit down to start the auction.
3. After the auction, go to the herbalist's hut near Oxenfurt and give the password. Fallen Knights may block the way.
4. Complete Open Sesame: Witcher Seasonings, Open Sesame: Breaking and Entering and Open Sesame: The Safecracker to recruit the crew.
5. Return to the herbalist's hut to plan the robbery, then head to the auction house.
6. Fight the guards and negotiate with the guards outside while the safecracker opens the vault.
7. Take the stairs down to the vault. With Quinto as safecracker, defeat the monsters in the pit first.
8. Pick a side when Horst offers Geralt a bribe, then defeat the other Borsodi brother.
9. Loot the big chests next to the pedestal of Maximilian Borsodi's House for the Viper Venomous Steel Sword diagram.
