Demons of War is a cyberpsycho sighting for Regina Jones in Kabuki, Watson, open after The Pickup. A police officer is shot as V arrives, and other bodies near the bridge were shot in the back with a rifle. The cyberpsycho is Matt Liaw, a veteran fired by his private military company, whose combat chrome was too deep to remove, and who lost his home and his treatment in the same week.
Story
Too Deep to Remove
The journal explains that when a corpo is fired, he usually loses his implants too. His synthetic organs and cyber eyes are dug out of his body. But sometimes the chrome has grown in so deep that it cannot be removed safely, even when someone very badly wants it back.
The Letters
A laptop hidden in a storage crate tells Matt's story. The Bank of Night City writes that, after repeated missed payments, it is foreclosing on his home on Milagro Terrace. He has three working days to leave, or the bank will begin eviction under its "CLEAR-2-KILL" system. The decision is final.
Another letter comes from Heroes Care, Ltd. Since his employment at Mercenary Solutions, Inc. has ended, his health policy, PTSD SHIELD, is cancelled at once. All appointments are cancelled and all medication discarded. He is welcome to use the government's veteran care programme, where the current wait is seven hundred and fifty six days. To register, he only has to text "HELP".
