Kabuki is a maze of narrow alleys in Watson, beside Little China, and the black market of Night City. By day it sells chop suey, cheap cosmetics and junk. By night it sells implants, organs, combat drugs and anything else that can be carried out of a back room. Kabuki Market sits at its heart.
History
Kabuki was once the pride of the Japanese medical corporations, built up around the old Med Center next door. When those corporations were absorbed by Arasaka or moved across the bay, the money left with them.
The area filled with the Chinese diaspora and turned into the shadiest bazaar in the city. It is now one of the poorest sub-districts of Night City outside Pacifica.

Life in Kabuki
Kabuki's alleys are hung with lanterns and flickering neon, and almost every doorway is a shop. Rumour says black clinics in its basements install military and prototype cyberware straight from the labs of Chiba.
The northern edge is quieter, with warehouses and abandoned factories taken over by gangs and squatters. Judy Álvarez lives in Kabuki, and the Scavengers supply some of the market's stranger goods.
Kabuki Roundabout sits at the centre of the district. Its architecture is inspired by China and pays tribute to what makes Kabuki unique. Old friends meet there over a bowl of ramen, and children stare at the newest braindance adverts. One factory shift passes the next on its way to Northside, while the black market trade carries on into the early hours. Street stalls fill almost every corner and sell top brands at very low prices.
Gangs
The Tyger Claws run Kabuki, and Maelstrom members come down from Northside. Scavengers trade here as well, which is where some of the organs on sale come from.
The Mox thrive here as well. They run Lizzie's Bar, the most popular braindance club in the city, and use it as their headquarters.
