Lex Talionis is a cyberpsycho sighting for Regina Jones in Coastview, Pacifica, in the underpass near the Grand Imperial Mall. The journal calls the place the Bermuda Triangle of Night City's homeless. The cyberpsycho is Ben DeBaillon, a netrunner whose plan to cheat a hired scout went badly wrong, and whose mind came apart after a brush with NetWatch.
Story
Enter at Your Own Risk
The journal warns that the underpass near the mall swallows the homeless like the Bermuda Triangle. It might sound easy, but in the heart of Pacifica nothing ever is. V enters at V's own risk.
The Job Offer
Mails on a computer tell the story. Someone calling himself SpaceBoy_66 wrote to Eagle Eye Inc., a recon and risk assessment outfit, about the Grand Imperial Mall. Eagle Eye named its price, double for the mall. SpaceBoy called it robbery, but agreed, and they set a meeting at his place.
A Cry for Help
A second mail, to a William S. Bradley, shows how it ended. Ben tried to fry the man he hired, to leave no witnesses and avoid paying his huge fee. But the man had defensive chrome, survived, and hurt Ben badly. Then NetWatch joined in, and Ben barely escaped the Net before they fried him. Now he is holed up in his hideout, feeling his brain do gymnastics in his skull, seeing more and more Scavengers around him, and unsure whether they are real. He begs Bradley for help.
