Over the Edge is a side job that ties V's story to that of David Martinez, the edgerunner of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. By Megabuilding H4 in the south of Arroyo, Santo Domingo, a green tag marks an alley wall, and a braindance lies in the trash can next to it. The recording leads V to Muamar "El Capitan" Reyes, to David's old crew, and to David's own jacket.
Story
A Strange Warning
Johnny is baffled in the journal. Someone is scattering black market braindances around the city with cyberpsychos in the leading roles? And the warning at the end is the strangest public service message he has ever seen. The only thread to follow is the name dropped at the end, David Martinez. He sounds like the headstrong type, and Johnny likes him already.
In the braindance, V lives through the death of the cyberpsycho Lt. Col. James Norris, and then hears a warning about the fate of David Martinez. When the recording ends, V is lying on the ground.
El Capitan
V texts Muamar Reyes to ask about David. El Capitan shares some of David's story, and promises to get in touch once he learns more about where David's companions are. The text exchange changes with V's lifepath.
Falco
About a day later, a message arrives from Falco. He used to run with David, though the crew has since fallen out of the spotlight. He says V and David have a lot in common, and that while their fifteen minutes of fame may be over, it is not too late for V. He tells V to visit El Capitan, who is keeping a gift for V.
