Dangerous Currents is a reported crime on Waldrop Street in Little China, Watson, between the MedCenter and Megabuilding H11. A group of Maelstrom gangers stands around a wrecked car. A shard in its boot tells of a smuggled package left in the water off the docks, and of the courier who was told to swim out for it.
Story
Shortcuts
The journal lists what it takes to move goods legally: excise duty, audits, taxes, bribes and queues. It is no surprise that so many people take shortcuts. But shortcuts can be dangerous.
The Undertow
The shard in the boot records a captain and a courier named Mike. The package was waiting, but not in the usual place. The boat hit bad weather and could not reach the shore, so the captain left it on the edge of the dump. Mike was furious. He knew the undertow out there would throw him onto the rocks. The captain told him to wait for a clear night, and reminded him to fear the boss more if the goods arrived late. Then he sent the code and the coordinates.

- Defeat the Maelstrom gangers around the car.
- Loot the cache in the car's boot and read the shard.
- Follow the coordinates to the docks on California Avenue, south of Konpeki Plaza.
- Dive down and search the sunken cargo.
