Story
Love and Betrayal
The journal reflects that Night City punishes love, betrayal and indifference, perhaps all three. What is certain is that there is a dead man, and a car somewhere in town full of eddies.
Wait
A shard records Marvin's talks with a smuggler whose name has been deleted. The smuggler gives careful advice. Marvin must not change his daily routine, so his coworkers and family suspect nothing. He must use only this phone, and only when he has to. He will learn the first meeting point and nothing more of the route. And until then, no alcohol, no braindance, no drugs, no unknown networks and no strangers.
Gig: New Life
Another shard holds the gig that ended it. Marvin Hilton, it says, is carrying corporate cash and data, and the client wants all of it. What happens to Marvin does not matter. The client laughs at how it all came out. Marvin's wife suspected something and hired him to follow her husband. He found Marvin's messages with a smuggler, and learned that Marvin wanted to run off to Venezuela with a lady friend. The smugglers would pick him up in Pacifica, and that is where the killers would find him.
