Shinobi is the skill that rises with the Reflexes attribute. It levels from the weapons Reflexes improves and from the movement the tree is built on, and it hands over a reward at every fifth level. Those rewards double down on speed, which is the whole idea behind the attribute. A build that keeps moving levels it without trying.
How It Levels
The skill climbs from neutralising enemies with assault rifles, submachine guns and blades, and from the movements themselves. Dashing, dodging, vaulting and climbing all feed it, which is unusual, since most skills only count kills.
That makes it the one skill in the game that rewards travel. A build that crosses a room by sliding and vaulting rather than walking is levelling the skill on the way to the fight as well as during it.
What It Gives
The early rewards are about movement and its cost. Movement speed rises, dodging and dashing cost less stamina, accuracy improves after a dodge or a dash, and a perk point arrives.
The middle rewards turn speed into protection and damage. Mitigation chance rises the faster V is moving, which is the same idea Slippery is built on, and fast attacks with a blade hit considerably harder.
The late rewards remove the last limits. Air dashing and sliding reload part of the equipped weapon automatically, low stamina stops affecting ranged accuracy and melee attack speed while V is airborne or inside slowed time, and a running Sandevistan grants a very large critical hit chance with no stamina cost for any kind of movement at all.
Perks
The Reflexes tree is where the points go. The movement branch, the blade branch and the automatic weapon branch all level this skill, so a build does not have to specialise to see the rewards.
The Sandevistan appears in the last reward, which ties the skill to the operating system implant most Reflexes builds already run. A Kerenzikov serves the same purpose at a smaller scale.
Shinobi Rewards
Every Shinobi level that hands something over is listed below.
| Level | Reward |
|---|---|
| 5 | Increases Movement Speed by 5% |
| 10 | -5% Stamina Cost From Dodging and Dashing |
| 15 | +1 Perk Point |
| 20 | Better accuracy after dodging or dashing |
| 30 | Decreased stamina cost for dodging and dashing |
| 35 | +1 Perk Point |
| 40 | Increased Mitigation Chance The Faster You Move |
| 45 | +25% Damage With Fast Attacks |
| 50 | Air Dashing and Sliding Automatically Reload 20% of Your Equipped Weapon |
| 55 | When Attacking From Midair or While Time Is Slowed, Low Stamina Does Not Affect Ranged Accuracy or Melee Attack Speed |
| 60 | When Sandevistan is Active: +40 Crit Chance and No Stamina Cost For Any Type of Movement |
Notes
Because movement itself counts, this skill levels during exploration as well as combat. A build that travels Night City on foot rather than by car will find it rising between jobs.
