Engineer is the skill that rises with the Technical Ability attribute. It levels from Tech weapons, grenades and crafting, and it hands over a reward at every fifth level. Its rewards are the broadest in the game, because several of them improve every implant V owns rather than one weapon class. A crafting build levels it almost by accident.
How It Levels
The skill climbs from neutralising enemies with Tech weapons, grenades, the Projectile Launch System and Bolt shots. It also counts kills made while certain cyberware and perk abilities are running, which brings Sandevistan, Berserk, optical camo, Overclock and Fury into the list.
Crafting, upgrading and disassembling items all feed it as well, and so does passing a Technical Ability check. That makes it the only skill that rises from work done outside a fight entirely.
What It Gives
The early rewards are armour and cyberware capacity, which are the two things Technical Ability is raised for in the first place. A perk point arrives alongside them.
The middle rewards spread wider. Grenade damage and explosion radius both rise, charging a Tech weapon or an electric baton is more likely to shock, health items become more effective, and every cyberware stat modifier V carries gains a large increase at once.
The late rewards read the tree's own abilities. Bolt shots gain damage and a high chance to set enemies on fire, Chain Lightning begins setting them alight as well, and a running Fury occasionally releases an EMP blast of its own.
Perks
The Technical Ability tree is where the points go. The supply branch, the cyberware branch, the explosives branch and the Tech weapon branch all level this skill, and so does crafting, which belongs to none of them.
The reward that raises every cyberware stat modifier is the one worth planning around. It stacks with All Things Cyber and License To Chrome, which means a chromed build is getting the same percentage from three separate sources.

| 30 | Increases Cyberware Capacity by 10 |

Notes
Crafting and disassembly make this the easiest skill to level deliberately. A build with components to spare can push it forward at a workbench rather than in a fight.
