Headhunter is the skill that rises with the Cool attribute. It levels from the quiet and precise work Cool is built around, and it hands over a reward at every fifth level. The rewards cover all three of the attribute's branches, from staying unseen to steadying a rifle to throwing a blade. A stealth or marksman build levels it steadily.
How It Levels
The skill climbs from the fighting Cool improves. Kills with pistols, revolvers, precision rifles, sniper rifles and thrown weapons all feed it, as does attacking while undetected and performing takedowns.
That makes it the skill of the patient approach. A build that opens every fight from a distance, or ends it before it starts, will see this one rise faster than anything else it carries.
What It Gives
The early rewards are about being seen and about where a shot lands. Visibility to enemies falls, headshot damage and damage against vulnerabilities both rise, a perk point arrives, and weapon sway disappears entirely while crouched.
The middle rewards serve the stealth and throwing branches. Optical camo stays active while V is grappling an enemy, throw recovery is much faster, and crouched walking and sprinting both speed up considerably.
The late rewards cover the moment a stealth run ends. The damage bonuses that only apply while undetected now persist for a few seconds after combat begins, and optical camo charge comes back for a kill made while unseen, during Focus, during Deadeye or with a thrown weapon.
Perks
The Cool tree is where the points go. The stealth branch, the marksman branch and the throwable branch all level this skill, which is fortunate, because the tree is wide enough that most builds take two of the three.
The last reward names Focus and Deadeye directly, which ties the skill to the marksman branch even for a build that spent its points on stealth.
Headhunter Rewards
Every Headhunter level that hands something over is listed below.
| Level | Reward |
|---|---|
| 5 | Decreases Visibility to Enemies by 10% |
| 10 | 10% Headshot Damage and 10% Damage against Vulnerabilities |
| 15 | +1 Perk Point |
| 20 | No weapon sway when crouched. |
| 25 | Decreases Visibility to Enemies by 10% |
| 30 | 15% Headshot Damage and 15% Damage against Vulnerabilities |
| 35 | +1 Perk point |
| 40 | Optical Camo is active while grappling enemies. |
| 45 | Decreases recovery time after a throw by 30%. |
| 50 | 30% faster when crouch-walking and crouch-sprinting. |
| 55 | Damage bonuses from being undetected outside of combat persist for 3 Seconds after entering combat. |
| 60 | 15% Optical Camo Charge when neutralizing an enemy in one of the following ways: While undetected. During Focus mode. During Deadeye mode. With a thrown weapon. |
Notes
No weapon sway while crouched is the reward most often felt. It turns a sniper rifle from something that has to be settled into something that can be fired the moment the crosshair is on a head.
