Privacy Policy Violation is a suspected organised crime activity on Sycamore Street in North Oak, Westbrook, at the premises of Impala Automatics. The city ended the company's lease for unpaid rent, but Impala refused to leave. Its people stayed on, guarded the site, and killed the netrunner who came to look.
Story
The Dispatcher
The NCPD dispatcher puts out a call on Sycamore Street. Night City has ended its lease with Impala Automatics for city owned industrial property, over unpaid rent and fees. The company has refused the decision and now holds the premises illegally. The city offers a reward for evicting Impala Automatics.
Field Work
The journal notes that netrunning might look like a job done from home, but not always. Sometimes a runner has to go out into the field and get his hands dirty. This time, someone else got their hands dirty killing him.
The Letters
A letter from City Hall demands that the CEO of Impala Automatics, Luan Mthembu, pay forty eight million in back rent within two days. Another thread of mails, with the senders' accounts deleted, shows the end of the company. Someone found out and cut off their funding. There is no way out but to wrap it all up. One of them suggests they keep running until someone bursts in with guns. The other does not care, as long as they destroy any evidence that could lead back to them.
Someone at the Ports
Two shards show that the company knew it was being watched. An urgent message to all units warns that netrunners have found someone scanning the ports of the company network for a way in. The signal suggests the attacker is close by. In a chat, an officer named Lamarr tells a Dr. Koch that someone tried to hack their servers for data on the doctor's project. Lamarr has asked for double security and warned every regional office and unit.
