Westbrook is the wealthy eastern district of Night City, the place to live and to have fun for anyone with money to spend. Many people in the city firmly believe it is the best district of all. North Oak, set on its hills, is probably the most beautiful neighbourhood in Night City and home to many of its richest and most powerful people. Charter Hill houses ambitious corporate staff who have climbed halfway up the company ladder, and Japantown is known across the city as its party district, where the Tyger Claws rule the streets by night. It was not always this way. The nuclear blast at Arasaka Tower shook the part of Westbrook next to City Center so hard that Japantown's high rises were wiped out, leaving crooked skeletons over the district for decades. Charter Hill filled with refugees, and even North Oak saw huts and tents on its slopes. During the great rebuilding, mostly Asian corporations cleared the ruins and raised shining new towers, returning Japantown to its former glory. The camps in North Oak lasted much longer, and crime there once beat even the combat zone, until mercenaries brought the area to order and it became the most exclusive and secure address in Night City.

Gangs

The Tyger Claws are the dominant gang in Westbrook. They rule only after dark, to stay clear of the heavy corporate security that patrols during the day.

The Tyger Claws reflect the strong Chinese and Japanese influence on Night City. They are organised, efficient and clever in business, but also unpredictable. Their business decisions are purely rational, yet their treatment of enemies and disloyal members can be shocking.

Japantown is their heartland, and they also work in Little China, Kabuki and Charter Hill. Nightclubs, casinos and braindance bars are their main source of income. The people of Night City love a good time, and no other gang knows how to profit from it as well as the Tygers. Jig-Jig Street and the doll house Clouds are among the places where their influence is plain to see.
