The Excavation Site, also known as the Agamen Ruins, is a mining camp in the south-east of Agamen Volcanic Island, where prisoners dig at ancient ruins. The game begins here in its gaol, and the Arisen returns near the end of the story to reach Moonglint Tower, where the final confrontation with the Dragon takes place.

Excavation Site Lore and History
The site is worked by prisoners kept as slave labour under the overseer Fiska. The Arisen wakes in a cell here with no memory, toiling alongside a fellow prisoner named Rook until a monster's attack gives them the chance to escape. Later, Lord Phaesus brings the false Sovran back to the site and climbs Moonglint Tower to perform the ritual he hopes will place a dragon under his command.
Excavation Site Quests
Gaoled Awakening opens the game in the Excavation Site Gaol: the Arisen follows Fiska into the dig, hauls a boulder for Rook, joins the prisoners and guards in fending off the beast that attacks the site, and then flees by leaping from a cliff.
In The Guardian Gigantus, the stone Gigantus Talos rises from the sea and marches on the Excavation Site and Moonglint Tower, and the soldiers' ballistas and the Arisen must bring it down before it arrives. Legacy follows Phaesus to the top of Moonglint Tower, where the Arisen fights his guards while he summons a Lesser Dragon; the true Dragon then appears, kills the summoned beast and confronts the Arisen with a final choice.
'Twixt a Rock and a Hard Place ends here, when Ernesto's letter is delivered to Barbas inside the site's gates. In the Unmoored World, approaching the main gates starts Shepherd of the Pawns, in which Henrique asks for help because the pawns at the site will not evacuate.
