The Lifetaker is one of the best Greatswords obtainable for free early on in Dragon's Dogma 2. The greatsword exstream weight gives each blow immense power. The weapon is wieldable by the Warrior vocation.

A sturdy greatsword fashioned of three distinct blade cores. Its heft lends each blow overwhelming power.

How to get the Lifetaker Guide

Merchant: Celeste's Smithy in Respoint Check Town
It can be obtained upon completing the quest "Beren's Final Lesson".
By defeating Skeleton Lord
Can be looted early from chest in Collapsed Mine northwest of Vernworth. To obtain the Lifetaker greatsword you must climb up the large ledge. You can do this by using the 'Go!' command to instruct a Fighter Pawn to use their Launchboard ability (assuming they have it), to launch you up onto the ledge (See video guide at 11:00 for a full walkthrough).

Smithing Upgrade Guide
