The Abyssal Woods are a thick, swampy forest at the bottom of a deep ravine, east of the Gravesite Plain and south of Scadu Altus. The canopy blocks out the light of the sky. Madness hangs over the woods, and Torrent refuses to be summoned for fear. Midra's Manse stands in the south-east. It is one of the last optional regions of the expansion.

Lore
The woods are the sanctum of Sage Midra, and the hornsent forbade anyone to enter. Midra embraced the Frenzied Flame, and hornsent inquisitors came to purge it. They still stand guard against the horrors within. Messages on the ground warn of beings in the woods that cannot be touched and can kill with a glance.
Geography
The only way in is the Darklight Catacombs at the end of the Recluses' River. Past Jori, Elder Inquisitor, the Forsaken Graveyard Site of Grace opens onto the woods. The Woodland Trail leads south into the trees. The Abandoned Church lies in the south-east, and the Divided Falls lie farther on. Midra's Manse stands at the south-eastern edge.
Bosses
Midra, Lord of Frenzied Flame waits in his manse. Jori, Elder Inquisitor guards the way in at the end of the Darklight Catacombs.
