Midra, Lord of Frenzied Flame is a legendary boss in Elden Ring . It is one of the expansion's additions, found in the Land of Shadow .
Midra, Lord of Frenzied Flame is a sage who failed to master the flame of frenzy and was impaled for it. He waits at the end of Midra's Manse in the Abyssal Woods , first as a frail, impaled man. Once beaten, he pulls the sword through his own head and becomes the Lord of Frenzied Flame . His barbed greatsword and yellow flame build up madness.
Lore Midra first appears as a hollow man in a golden robe, impaled by a golden barbed sword that runs through his eye and replaces his spine. When he tears it out, his head becomes a ball of yellow flame and the sword's barbs coil around its blade.
Long ago, the great sage Midra tried to become a Lord of Frenzied Flame but was too weak and failed. The hornsent pierced him with the branching thorns of the Greatsword of Damnation and suppressed his power. They forbade his manse and the Abyssal Woods around it.
Those who served the sage had their eyes burned by the flame of frenzy. Midra lingered in endless suffering for the sake of his beloved Nanaya , until he could endure no more.
Where to find Midra, Lord of Frenzied Flame Location? Midra's Manse, in the chamber at the end of the manse (Second Floor Chamber Site of Grace)

Phases Phase 1: Midra's frail human form fights with a stick, a grab and a madness burst.
Phase 2: he becomes the Lord of Frenzied Flame, with barbed greatsword combos and frenzied flame attacks that leave lingering fire. Attacks Grab and madness burst: his human form grabs or releases madness around him. Killing this form quickly avoids both.
Flame Strands: crawling strands of yellow flame race toward the player. A forward roll timed to the strand, then a delayed second roll, closes the distance.
Greatsword combos: slow, heavy swings with the barbed blade. Two full heavy hits in return break his stance.
Frenzied flame bombs: a flashing bomb that detonates after a short delay. Moving away after the flash avoids it.
Lingering flames: in phase two his attacks leave fire on the ground. Rolling away from the flame paths avoids them. Tactics Bring Clarifying Boluses and the Clarifying Horn Charm against madness.
Equip the Flamedrake Talisman +3 and cast Flame, Protect Me .
Kill his human form fast, then drink the Flask of Wondrous Physick during the transformation.
Roll forward through his Flame Strands to land a heavy attack during his recovery.

Use bleed or frost to make him stumble, and slash damage for extra damage. Best Builds Bleed great katana He is prone to blood loss, and Rivers of Blood or blood grease on a great katana works well.
