Ancient Dragon Senessax is a great boss in Elden Ring. It is one of the expansion's additions, found in the Land of Shadow.

Ancient Dragon Senessax is a sleeping ancient dragon that guards the path toward the summit of the Jagged Peak. It wakes with a strike of red lightning and fights with wide lightning slams and fire breath. Its fire breath can nearly kill in one hit. Defeating it yields rare Ancient Dragon Smithing Stones.

Lore

Senessax has a grey body like weathered stone, four legs and four wings inlaid with gold. Its muzzle is short and flat, and its eyes burn orange. Red lightning forms in its claws as it fights.

The ancient dragons ruled long before the Erdtree, when the Crucible was held divine. Their scales were sharp gravel stones, and red lightning was their weapon. They protected their lord as a wall of living rock.

Where to find Ancient Dragon Senessax Location?

Jagged Peak, sleeping in a cavern southeast of the Foot of the Jagged Peak, past two drakes and two spiritsprings (Jagged Peak Mountainside Site of Grace)

Ancient Dragons' Lightning Strike: it opens the fight by calling down red lightning. Moving away from the marked area avoids it.
Fire breath from the air: a wide burst of flame that can take most of the health bar. Repeated rolls to one side avoid it.
Lightning slams: it raises its arms and slams red lightning into the ground. Rolling back twice avoids the wide area.
Lightning sweeps: wide swings across the ground. A roll backward avoids them.

Tactics

Summon Black Knife Tiche or the Mimic Tear Ashes to share its attention.
Avoid the pool of water, which extends the reach of its lightning.
Attack its feet after each missed attack.
Roll back far as soon as it raises its arms for a slam.
Use rot incantations to wear down its large health pool.
