The Gravesite Plain is a wide field of wheat and ghostly spiritgraves in the west of the Realm of Shadow. It is the first land reached after touching Miquella's withered arm in the Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum. Ruins of the hornsent dot the plain, and the scars of war mark it everywhere. The spiral tower of the hornsent rises in the north-west. Every journey into the Realm of Shadow begins here.

Lore
The Realm of Shadow was once the very heart of the Lands Between. It was the land of the hornsent, a people who worshipped the Crucible for the tangled horns it gave them. Queen Marika ascended to godhood here, and later buried her secrets here. All manner of death washes ashore in this land.
Long ago, Marika sent Messmer the Impaler on a crusade against the hornsent, who lived outside the grace of the Erdtree. His army burned their towns across the plain. The Scorched Ruins and the Church of Consolation still show the work of his soldiers. Marika later cut her ties with Messmer and hid the whole realm beneath the shadow of the Scadutree.
Miquella the Kind came to the Land of Shadow after casting off his flesh, his strength and his lineage. His followers came after him, and they too wander the plain. Belurat, the old hornsent settlement at the foot of their sacred tower, was razed in the crusade. A Sealing Tree now veils the tower in shadow.
Geography
The Tarnished arrives at the Gravesite Plain Site of Grace in the south-west of the plain. The main road runs north past the Scorched Ruins, where the Map: Gravesite Plain lies on a stele. Prospect Town and the Church of Benediction lie to the west and south-west, near the Cliffroad Terminus. The Western Nameless Mausoleum stands at the plain's western edge.
The north-west holds Belurat, Tower Settlement, beneath the tower of Enir-Ilim. The Belurat Gaol lies in a cave west of a lake where a Ghostflame Dragon rests. The Abandoned Ailing Village lies near that lake. The Ellac River cuts across the north of the plain, spanned by the Ellac Greatbridge. The Run-Down Traveler's Rest sits below the bridge.
Castle Ensis guards the way north-east into Scadu Altus, at the far end of the greatbridge. The Fog Rift Fort and the Fog Rift Catacombs lie beside it. The eastern plain holds the Church of Consolation and the Suppressing Pillar, the center of the Lands Between. The road of dragon statues south from Castle Front leads to the Dragon's Pit. Beyond the pit lie the Foot of the Jagged Peak, Charo's Hidden Grave and the Cerulean Coast.
Old forges of the Golem Smiths lie beneath the plain, among them the Ruined Forge Lava Intake. The Rivermouth Cave holds a pool of cursed blood. The Elder's Hovel overlooks the Abyssal Woods from the plain's south-eastern edge.
Bosses
The Divine Beast Dancing Lion guards Belurat, and Rellana, Twin Moon Knight holds Castle Ensis. A Ghostflame Dragon rests by the northern lake, and Furnace Golems stalk the roads. The Ancient Dragon-Man tests challengers in the Dragon's Pit, beside a Magma Wyrm. Black Knight Garrew, Demi-Human Swordmaster Onze, a Death Knight, the Chief Bloodfiend and the Knight of the Solitary Gaol wait in its forts, gaols and tombs.
