Starscourge Radahn is a legendary boss in Elden Ring.

Starscourge Radahn is the demigod general who once held back the stars, now driven mad by scarlet rot. He roams the Wailing Dunes of Caelid, reached through Redmane Castle once the Radahn Festival begins. The fight is a battlefield duel on Torrent, with a crowd of NPC champions to summon. His defeat makes a star fall in Limgrave and opens the way to Nokron, Eternal City.

Lore

Radahn is a colossal warrior in a lion helm with a wild mane of flaming red hair. He wields two huge curved greatswords and a great bow. Rot has wasted his body, and he rides a horse far too small for him.

Radahn was the son of Rennala and Radagon, and became a demigod stepchild when Radagon wed Queen Marika. He inherited his father's flaming red hair and idolized Godfrey, adorning his armor with lions. He learned gravity magic in Sellia so he would never have to abandon his beloved but scrawny steed.

Long ago, General Radahn challenged the swirling stars and arrested their cycles. During the Shattering he fought Malenia to a standstill in Caelid. Her scarlet rot reduced him to a state of feral rage.

Phases

  • Phase 1: Radahn rains homing arrows from afar, then closes in with his twin greatswords and gravity magic.
  • Phase 2: at about half health he flies into the sky and crashes down like a meteor, then adds gravity blasts and orbiting rocks to his attacks.

Attacks

  • Magic arrows: homing arrows fired the moment the fight starts that can kill in one hit. A shield, debris or a roll toward the arrow avoids them.
  • Radahn's Rain: a volley of arrows that homes in from above. Riding or running directly sideways outpaces it.
  • Twin greatsword combos: huge sweeping slashes. Dodging on foot or riding away on Torrent avoids them.
  • Gravity pull and slam: he drags the target toward him before a heavy strike. Rolling as the pull ends avoids the strike.
  • Meteor dive: in phase two he flies into the sky and crashes down on the target. Galloping away at full speed avoids the impact.
  • Gravity rocks and spheres: magic projectiles that can kill in one hit. Sprinting sideways or rolling through avoids them.

Tactics

  1. Wear no more than a medium load, because his attacks are very fast.
  2. Raise a shield on entry and move between the debris to reach the summon signs.
  3. Summon every NPC champion, and summon them again when their signs reappear.
  4. Fight from Torrent and break away to heal whenever needed.
  5. When he takes to the sky in phase two, gallop away at once.
  6. Let the summons hold his attention in phase two while circling on Torrent.
  7. Use scarlet rot, because Radahn is especially vulnerable to it.
