Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon is a legendary boss in Elden Ring.
Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon is the head of the Carian royal family and the master of the Academy of Raya Lucaria. She waits in the academy's Grand Library, shielded at first by a crowd of young scholars. Once her shield falls, she conjures a full moon, summons spirits and throws powerful sorceries. Defeating her grants her Great Rune and later lets her rebirth the Tarnished to reallocate attributes.
Lore
Rennala is a tall sorceress in flowing robes who clutches a large amber egg to her breast. Before her full moon rises, she floats in a shimmering bubble held up by the chants of the young scholars around her.
Rennala began as a young astrologer who chased the stars, until she met the full moon. Her lunar magic charmed the academy, and she became its master. She raised the house of Caria to royalty and led the Glintstone Knights.
Queen Marika sent Radagon to conquer Liurnia. After two wars with no victor, Radagon swore his love to Rennala and wed her at the Church of Vows. They had three children: Radahn, Rykard and Ranni. Radagon later left her to become Marika's consort.

Phases
- Phase 1: Rennala floats in a bubble shield while Juvenile Scholars chant and attack. Hitting the glowing scholars breaks the shield and drops her to the floor.
- Phase 2: she stands in a moonlit realm and casts sorceries, summons spirits and unleashes Rennala's Full Moon.
Attacks
- Light Explosion: after falling, she charges light in her hand and bursts it around her. Backing away as soon as the hand glows avoids it.
- Chandelier Drop: small flames mark circles on the floor before a chandelier falls. Leaving the burning circles avoids it.
- Gravestones: scholars rise and turn into glowing gravestones that fly at the player. Moving constantly or hiding behind a solid pillar avoids them.
- Rennala's Full Moon: she launches a giant moon that dispels sorcery. A roll through the moon or running sideways avoids it.
- Spirit summons: she calls spirit wolves, a Bloodhound Knight, a Troll Knight or a dragon. Dodging until the summon fades is safest.
- Comet and glintstone volleys: fast magic projectiles. Running instead of rolling is often enough.
Tactics
- In phase one, find and hit the glowing Juvenile Scholars to break her bubble.
- Charge a heavy attack and strike as soon as she falls to the floor.
- Back off when her hand glows to avoid Light Explosion.
- In phase two, stay on her with fast, chained hits to stagger her.
- Summon spirit ashes such as the Lone Wolf Ashes to deal with her summons and keep her staggered.
- Use physical damage, because her magic protection is extremely high.
