War Counselor Iji is a character in Elden Ring.
War Counselor Iji, first met as Smithing Master Iji, is a gentle troll who forged weapons for the Carian royal family. He keeps a smithing post on the road to Caria Manor in western Liurnia. He upgrades weapons and sells Somber Smithing Stones earlier than most merchants. As Ranni's war counselor, he plays a quiet but key part in her questline.
Lore
Iji is a troll who wears a mirrored helm and works his anvil with a troll's hammer.
He served as smith to the Carian royals and has known Ranni and Blaidd since their childhood. He swore himself to Ranni when she turned against the Greater Will.
Iji feared that Blaidd, as a shadow bound to the Two Fingers, would one day turn on his lady, so he sealed him in an evergaol. After Blaidd died defending Ranni, Iji admitted his mistake, and Black Knife assassins later killed him at his anvil.
