The Abandoned Watchtower is a ruined tower in the southern Nomad Highlands, now ruled by Hollow hounds and a Hollow Warlock. The Warlock tried again and again to bring back a dead dog named Ikko. Each ritual put the dog's soul into a new vessel, and each one failed. The notes along the tower record every failed attempt. The last note speaks of a fresh, living subject, a black dog. Interrupting the ritual saves the dog, and it can be tamed as the pet Ikko.

Where to Find Abandoned Watchtower - Map Location

The watchtower stands just north of Lover's Hideaway and the Southern Caravan Camp. A Shroud Root lies right to the east. A Shroud Lair lies to the south-west, and a Gem Forge stands further south-west.

Enemies

The tower belongs to the Hollow, the cursed undead of the old crypts. Hollow hounds guard the grounds, and the Hollow Warlock leads them from the tower. A guard's note in Raven's Keep tells that the hounds taken from Lupa vanished one cold night, with tracks leading to a nearby tower.

Unique Loot

Ikko is a happy, carefree black dog that loves belly rubs and sleeping in. It is found in the tower, where the Warlock kept it for the next ritual. Dog Food Bait tames it, and it then moves to the base. Petting a cat or dog in the base grants the Paw's Touch buff, which adds health for a while.

Chests

A gold chest is buried in the grave on top of the rock outcrop near the tower. Rubble covers the grave, and digging through it reveals the chest. A silver chest waits at the top of the tower and needs a Lockpick. Another gold chest sits in the eastern tent at the neighbouring camp and holds a Greater Ring Of Health.

Climb to the top of the rock outcrop near the tower.
Find the grave with rubble on top.
Dig through the rubble into the grave.
Open the gold chest.

Lore Pages

The set Echoes Of Ikko follows the Warlock's experiments. "He Echoes All Throughout" lies on a desk in the room below the top floor, where the Warlock decides that the next vessel must be alive. "Ikko #2" lies at the very top next to a candle and the cage, and records a body that burst into flames. "Ikko #3" and "Ikko #4" hang on the front of the cage and tell of a vessel with teeth growing everywhere and of a fresh, living subject. "Ikko's Grave" is the gravestone itself, which promises that Ikko's memory will live on forever.
