Elder Set

Elder Set

Type	Armour set
Class	Magic
Level	25
Physical	189
Magical	281

The Elder Set is a looted mage armour set that scales with the area where it drops. It raises staff damage, magical critical hits and mana. Every piece also adds frost resistance and shortens the Wet debuff. Bosses and chests drop it from the Albaneve Summits onward.

Pieces

The hat raises the chance and damage of magical critical hits, and the gloves add staff damage. The chest, trousers and boots add health, a large mana pool and faster mana regeneration. The mix lets a staff caster hit hard over long fights.

How to Get Elder Set Guide

The set only comes from loot. Bosses and random chests drop the pieces, mostly in the Albaneve Summits and the Veilwater Basin. The pieces drop at a level that matches the area, so copies from later regions are stronger. Rarity is rolled on each drop, and a rarer copy holds more enhancements. Upgrades go through the Alchemist and cost Runes. Every piece adds frost resistance, which helps in the cold summits where the set first turns up.

Levelling and Upgrades

The pieces drop at a level that matches the area, from 30 up to 55. Gear tops out at level 55, so a copy from the late regions already sits near the top. Like other mage armour, upgrades go through the Alchemist and cost Runes. The rarity of the copy sets how many enhancements it can hold.

Lore

The Elder pieces are made for the wisest and most battle-hardened wizards. Through the hat, the past, present and future unfold like blooming aureolins. The chest piece holds back the wearer's smouldering magic, and on a mere apprentice it could stop the heart. The gloves put all the forgotten knowledge of the world at the fingertips. The boots copy the skin of wyverns, whose scales were said to absorb magic from all around.
