The Alchemist's Rumors uncovers cruel experiments in the Springlands. Scavengers on the Hill of Scavengers abuse the Elixir under a Scavenger Gorger Matron, a boss. Defeating her rewards the Scavenger Matron Helmet and the knowledge for the Improved Grappling Hook, which costs less stamina.
Walkthrough
The quest step by step:
- Reach level 7 and finish Powerful Alchemy, then speak to the Alchemist.
- Travel to the Hill of Scavengers. Its Scavengers are around level 7.
- Fight through the camp and defeat the Scavenger Gorger Matron boss.
- Craft the Improved Grappling Hook with the Carpenter.
The Scavenger Matron Helmet is also the trophy for an early Flame upgrade.

Prerequisites
This quest follows Powerful Alchemy, which the Flame gives after The Ancient Spires. The Flame marks the Ancient Vault where the Alchemist sleeps. He holds great knowledge of potions and spells. Once the player summons him at the base with the Summoning Staff, he hears troubling rumours about a Scavenger group. Those rumours lead to the Hill of Scavengers, where the boss Scavenger Matron waits.
