The Yak is a fleeting animal in Enshrouded, found in the Albaneve Summits. You can tame it and keep it in your base.

Where to Find the Yak - Map Location

Yaks live almost only in the Albaneve Summits. They graze near Gateway Outpost "Drifa", the Wickmouth Goat Farm, Vinebrook Farm, cave passages, Gem Forges and Flame Altars. Yaks are fleeting animals and run when approached. They can be tamed with Yak Food Bait, which takes several successful pet interactions. A tamed yak with shelter and food produces Raw Wool at the base. Wild yaks also drop Raw Fatty Meat and a little Raw Wool.

Taming and Breeding

Yaks can be tamed with Yak Food Bait. They require three successful pet interactions to be tamed. After being brought to your base they require shelter, a Big Farm Animal Pillow and a Yak Feeder with Yak Food. You can craft these at the Farmer.

If provided with a spare bed, a pair of Yaks have a chance to produce offspring (Baby Yak).

Yaks produce Raw Wool every ~10 minutes when sheltered and fed. They can hold up to eight and won’t produce more beyond this limit until it's collected. They will also produce when unfed, but at a much slower rate. Production will happen regardless of player distance.Raw Wool can be spun at the Spinning Machine and then turned into Wool, necessary to create warm clothing.

Baby Yak

A Baby Yak is a fluffy, warm young yak. A pair of tamed yaks with a spare bed has a chance to produce one. Breeding gives more yaks without taming them in the wild. More yaks mean more Raw Wool for the Spinning Machine. The Wool from it goes into Warm Padding for the cold-weather armour of the Albaneve Summits.
