The Leonida Keys are a chain of tropical islands in the state of Leonida. The islands are modelled on the real Florida Keys. They go by the name Gateway to Paradise. Life on the islands is not flashy, but it is easy.

The dress code is casual and the bars are always loaded. Dive bars such as The Rusty Anchor draw a lively crowd of locals. The Rusty Anchor is a waterside bar with picnic tables and its own pier. Boat parties gather out on the bright blue water. Partygoers drink and lounge on the boats, while jet skis race past. Seaplanes fly low over the shallows between the islands. Road bridges carry traffic from one island to the next. Locals get around on bicycles and mobility scooters.

The Keys feel more relaxed than the main city, with rustic waterside bars and boat parties. They are a place to pull up a deck chair and unwind. The islands sit on the doorstep of some of the most beautiful waters in America. Those same waters are also some of the most dangerous in the country. Beneath the surface, divers find coral, eels, fish and sea turtles. Scuba diving is one of the activities on offer in the Keys.

Jason Duval drifted to the Keys after a stint in the Army. He works there for local drug runners, doing what he knows best. He lives rent-free in one of the properties owned by Brian Heder. The deal holds as long as Jason helps with local shakedowns. Jason is also expected to stop by now and then for the sangria of Lori. Brian is a classic drug runner from the golden age of smuggling in the Keys. He still moves product through his boat yard with Lori, his third wife. Brian has been around long enough to let others do his dirty work.

Places

The Rusty Anchor is a dive bar in the Leonida Keys. It is one of the best places on the islands to unwind. The bar sits right on the waterfront. Picnic tables stand outside, and the bar has its own pier for boats. A lively crowd of locals gathers there. The Rusty Anchor fits the easy life of the Keys, where the dress code is casual and the bars are loaded.
