The Moose Hide Cape is the fighter's cape of the Deep North. It gives 12 armour and frost resistance, and cuts the stamina cost of attacking and running by a fifth.

How to Craft

You craft it at a level 4 black forge from:

  • 6x Moose Hide: dropped by moose in the Deep North.
  • 2x Moose Sinew: dropped by moose in the Deep North.
  • 5x Bloodgold: smelted from petrified tissue in a blast furnace.

Moose Hide Moose Hide Deep North - spawn MooseHide
Moose Sinew Moose Sinew Deep North - spawn MooseSinew
Bloodgold Bloodgold Deep North Blast Furnace spawn Gold

When to Use It

End game. To progress through the Deep North you need Fader dead.

Upgrades

You can upgrade it twice at the black forge. Each step needs the station one level higher than the last, and costs the per-level amount, then twice that. Quality 4 would cost four times the per-level amount and needs a level 7 black forge, above its current maximum of 6, so that row is not yet available.

Quality Crafting Station Armor Durability Resources
1 Black Forge (Level 4) 12 1200
2 Black Forge (Level 5) 14 1250
3 Black Forge (Level 6) 16 1300
4 Black Forge (Level 7, not yet available) 18 1350

Properties

You craft it outright at a level 4 black forge from six moose hide, two moose sinew and five bloodgold. It upgrades at the black forge to quality 3, gaining two armour a level.

As in the Mountains, all weather in the Deep North counts as freezing, day and night. Outdoors and away from a fire you are Freezing: no health regeneration, stamina and eitr regenerating 60% slower, and a point of damage every second. Near a fire or under a roof you are only Cold. Any frost resistance stops both, and this cape gives it.

The fighter's half of the trade is a fifth off the stamina cost of attacking and running.

It gives 12 armour at quality 1 and 16 at quality 3. It weighs 4 and has 1200 durability, or 1300 at quality 3.

Quality 4 needs a level 7 black forge, above its current maximum of 6, so in practice the cape stops at quality 3.

Crafting it and taking it to quality 3 costs 15 moose hide, 11 bloodgold and 5 moose sinew in total.

Notes

  • It has the same 12 armor and frost resistance as the Ashen Cape. It cuts the stamina cost of attacks by a fifth, where the Ashen Cape cuts it by a tenth, and it makes running cheaper where the Ashen Cape makes blocking cheaper.
  • Once it is fully upgraded, the Forge of Potential can upgrade it further with a Bloodgold Protection Idol.
