Moose Sinew is the tough tendon of the moose; its description calls it tough and hardy, and sure to come in handy. It holds together the Headdress of the Caller, the Hood of the Vanguard and the Moose Hide Cape, and each of their upgrades needs it too. It weighs half a unit and stacks to 50.
How to Get It
Every moose drops two sinew, four at one star and eight at two, along with its hides, meat and, one time in ten, its trophy. Moose roam all of the Deep North by day and night, usually one at a time. With 1,000 health and antlers that hit for 160 slash, each one is a real fight. Fire is its weakness, and it resists blunt, slash and frost.
Every moose drops two hides and two sinew, so if you hunt for hide you always end up with more sinew than the recipes need.
Notes
- A Moose only drops its trophy 10% of the time, and the Headdress of the Caller takes one Moose Trophy to craft plus one more for each upgrade.
- A tamed and bred herd gives sinew without a fight. Moose are tamed with Lingonberries.
- The Spirit Caller and the Neckstabber also need a Moose Trophy.
Moose Sinew Crafting Recipes
At quality 1 the three recipes take five sinew between them: two for the headdress cast, one for the hood cast and two for the cape. Upgrades add one and then two to each, up to quality 3, the highest the black forge and galdr table allow. That brings the headdress to 5 in all, the hood to 4 and the cape to 5. Finishing all three takes 14 sinew, which is seven plain moose or only a few starred ones.
The three pieces it goes into cover the biome's builds. The Headdress of the Caller is the mage's head piece, with 22 armour and 40% more eitr regeneration, and it also takes a moose trophy. The Hood of the Vanguard is the medium set's head piece at 34 armour, and the one Vanguard piece made without elaking hair. The Moose Hide Cape is the fighter's cape, with 12 armour, frost resistance and a fifth off the stamina cost of attacking and running. It is made at a level 4 black forge with six hides and five bloodgold alongside the sinew.
