The Blunt Crossbow Bolt is a level 1 Master bolt that deals bludgeoning damage. The crafted variant deals 7-9 damage with +8 silver. The basic variant, sold by smiths, deals 9-11 damage with +10 silver. It is early-game ammunition, and shops stock the basic variant from level 6.
Every other bolt deals piercing or fire damage, so this is the bludgeoning choice for a crossbow build. The basic variant beats the crafted one by 2 damage and 2 silver.

How to Get Blunt Crossbow Bolt
- Crafted: Find Diagram: Blunt Crossbow Bolt at a random diagram location, or buy it from the armorer in Hierarch Square or the Isolated Hut merchant on Hindarsfjall. Each craft makes a stack of 20. The blacksmith in Oxenfurt, Zoltan Chivay and the epilogue smith also sell these bolts, and 20 are in the basement of the southeastern abandoned hut in Mulbrydale.
- Basic: From level 6, buy them from the blacksmiths in Arinbjorn, Kaer Trolde citadel, Oreton and Oxenfurt, from Éibhear Hattori or from the Crow's Perch quartermaster. Stacks of 20 sit in the Velen deserter camps.
Notes
Zoltan sells them during The Battle of Kaer Morhen if he was recruited. The epilogue smith sells them if Redania wins.
