Grandmaster armorer

Grandmaster Forgotten Wolven Gauntlets are medium witcher gauntlets that came free to the base game. They are the Grandmaster variant of the forgotten Wolven Gauntlets. They give 87 armor and +12% Aard sign intensity at level 40. The diagram comes from Scavenger Hunt: Forgotten Wolf School Gear Diagrams in Kaer Morhen. These gauntlets suit the late game.

They also give +4% piercing, +6% slashing, +4% monster and +5% elemental resistance. The Aard intensity pairs with the 6-piece set bonus, which adds Aard damage to enemies inside Yrden. That suits a signs build. The 3-piece bonus makes potions last longer.

Set Bonus

The Forgotten Wolven set is medium armor. It has three tiers: Standard at level 20, Mastercrafted at 34 and Grandmaster at 40. Each tier has an NG+ legendary variant. 3 pieces: potions last longer, by 7% per set piece. 6 pieces: Aard deals extra damage to enemies affected by Yrden.

How to Get Grandmaster Forgotten Wolven Gauntlets

  • Start Scavenger Hunt: Forgotten Wolf School Gear Diagrams.
  • Read Osmund's notes and Vesemir's note on the bookshelf platform inside the Kaer Morhen keep. Completing the hunt gives all the Mastercrafted and Grandmaster diagrams for the set.
  • A grandmaster craftsman crafts them from the Mastercrafted Forgotten Wolven Gauntlets.

Grandmaster Forgotten Wolven Gauntlets Map Location and Quest Guide

Reading Osmund's notes and Vesemir's note on a bookshelf inside the Kaer Morhen keep unlocks the Grandmaster Forgotten Wolven Gauntlets diagram, along with every mastercrafted and grandmaster diagram of the set. The pin marks Scavenger Hunt: Forgotten Wolf School Gear Diagrams, which begins once In the Eternal Fire's Shadow ends in Velen.

  1. Speak to the priest of the Eternal Fire at the Devil's Pit in Velen to start In the Eternal Fire's Shadow. He gives Geralt the key to the mine.
  2. Unlock the mine gate and follow the path through the mine to the doors with Reinald's fifth letter.
  3. Free Reinald from the salt stalagmites with Aard.
  4. Defeat the possessed Reinald, then the Red Miasmal.
  5. Talk to Reinald after the fight. He gives Geralt his armor and sword diagrams, and Scavenger Hunt: Forgotten Wolf School Gear Diagrams begins.
  6. Travel to Kaer Morhen and enter the keep.
  7. Climb the ladder by the bookshelves on the left to the upper platform.
  8. Read Osmund's notes and Vesemir's note on the bookshelf at the far end of the platform. They unlock the Grandmaster Forgotten Wolven Gauntlets diagram.

Notes

  • In NG+ the diagram makes Grandmaster Legendary Forgotten Wolven Gauntlets instead. They need level 40 plus the NG+ starting level and give 89 armor at level 41 (+2 per level). Their bonuses stay the same.
  • The Standard tier diagrams come from Reinald at the end of the secondary quest In the Eternal Fire's Shadow, in Grayrocks, Velen.
