Grandmaster armorer |
Manticore Boots are medium witcher boots from Blood and Wine. They give 91 armor and +25% crit damage at level 40, the highest crit damage of any boots outside NG+ legendary gear. They belong to the Manticore set, which comes in a single Grandmaster tier. Their diagram is in Lebioda's temple in Toussaint. These are late-game boots.
They also give +5 maximum toxicity, +5% piercing, +6% slashing and +4% monster resistance. The set bonuses carry crits to bombs and add alchemy charges. Together with the extra toxicity, they suit an alchemy and bombs build. Medium armor balances protection and stamina regeneration.
Set Bonus
The Manticore set is medium armor with 1 tier, Grandmaster at level 40. 3 pieces: crit chance and crit damage also apply to bombs, and bombs are thrown with no delay. 6 pieces: each alchemy item gets 1 extra charge.
How to Get Manticore Boots
- During Scavenger Hunt: Grandmaster Manticore Gear, break the Aard wall in Lebioda's temple to reach the boots and trousers diagrams.
- A grandmaster armorer crafts the boots. The quest Master Master Master Master! in Beauclair unlocks this armorer.
Manticore Boots Map Location and Quest Guide
The Manticore Boots diagram sits in Lebioda's temple, in a hidden room behind a wall that Aard breaks open, during Scavenger Hunt: Grandmaster Manticore Gear. The pin marks the diagram spot. The same container holds the Manticore Trousers diagram and The Great Beggar's journal.
- Talk to Lafargue, the grandmaster smith in Toussaint, and ask him about the Manticore gear to start the hunt.
- Go to the Bastoy Prison Ruins and climb the standing tower.
- Loot the loose brick in the wall at the top for the steel sword diagram, then read the prisoner's notes on the corpse beside it. It points to the cave where Lebioda once stayed.
- Go to the cave southeast of Gélenser Farm and kill the panther outside.
- Search the prayer notes on the cavern wall farthest from the entrance and read Merten's prayer. It gives the armor diagram and points to Lebioda's temple.
- Enter Lebioda's temple, go to the farthest room and use Aard to open the hidden area.
- Defeat the Great Beggar's Ghost, the specter that attacks there.
- Loot the container on the table for the Manticore Boots diagram.

Notes
In NG+ the diagram makes Legendary Manticore Boots instead. They need level 40 plus the NG+ starting level. They give 93 armor at level 41 and +30% crit damage.
